It felt like yesterday was January 1st and we were celebrating New Years

and now.... February is beginning.

It's scary how time goes by so fast. Before we even know it, this year will be over and who knows, our lives may change this year in ways we can't even imagine.

Wow, I got deep. It felt natural, I want to share more of my thoughts with you guys, stay tuned.

Music of the Week #6

Hello friends!!

Here we have another one of my musical obsessions

Yay!!!!!!

This week...........Peter Hollens!

If you don't know who Peter Hollens is, I suggest you click on these songs immediately and then go check out his YouTube channel

Peter Hollens- Shenandoah
I had actually never heard this song until Peter Hollens covered it. It's an old folk song and his voice just matches it perfectly.

Peter Hollens- For the Dancing and the Dreaming feat. Evynne Hollens
Have I ever mentioned how much I love this song? This one features his wife and their voices blend so well together. Gosh!! It's so pretty!

Peter Hollens- Homeward Bound
Oh my gosh, this song is the most gorgeous thing my ears have ever heard!! I can't even begin to express how this song makes me feel.

Peter Hollens- Somewhere Out There
This one he just posted a couple weeks ago actually. This song is so pretty. I just can't.

Peter Hollens- Loch Lomond
This Scottish song and Peter's voice= The most wonderful thing in the world!

Well there's that. I'm sorry for the level of fangirling I did. I just really love Peter's voice and these songs are amazing.

Love,
-Lia

Music of the Week #5

Hello people of the Internet!

I am going to do the music of the week a little differently from now on.
I will do my top favorite songs from one artist or musical each week instead of 5 different artists.

Without further ado, here we go!

I recently became obsessed with Taylor Davis, a violinist on YouTube.

So that's who this week is dedicated to!

Taylor Davis- For the Dancing and the Dreaming
I love this song. On the violin, it's just so pretty. Have a listen

Taylor Davis- The Avengers Theme
I am obsessed with the Marvel Universe so when I heard her cover of the main theme I was pretty excited.

Taylor Davis- My Heart Will Go On-
I have not seen the new Titanic this song is from. But my sisters listen to this song all the time so I know it. I think this song is just so pretty and on violin it sounds awesome. :)

Taylor Davis- He's A Pirate
I love Pirate's of the Caribbean! Enough said.

Taylor Davis- Phantom of the Opera Medley
Obviously I wouldn't pass up the Phantom of the Opera theme. I love this musical. It was the first Broadway musical I had ever seen and I will never get tired of it.

There you have it, this week's 5 musical selections.
:)

"Tomorrow Is Always Fresh With No Mistakes In It."

Hey guys!

I feel I don't ask this enough but how are you? Tell me in the comments.

Anyway this is a post about our favorite redhead, Anne with an E.

Anne of Green Gables--
This is the first book of the series. We are first introduced to the characters of the series. I really love Anne. Her optimism on life is so refreshing and I can relate to her a lot. In this book, we are treated to the famous smashing of the slate on Gilbert's head. :) Matthew and Marilla are so funny. I cried buckets when Matthew died. I love this book and if you haven't read it....... Go! Do so now!

Anne of Avonlea--
Anne is sixteen and teaching school in Avonlea. She and Gilbert have a good friendship. Diana and Anne are still bosom friends. Mr. Harrison moves into the house next to Green Gables. Mr. Harrison is so funny. I love his character.  At the end of the book, Anne decides to go to Redmond college with Gilbert, Charlie, and Priscilla.

Anne of the Island- This book, oh this book. Where do I start? Anne goes to college. She meets quite a few new people, including my personal favorite Philippa Gordon. Now this book is where Gilbert finally tells Anne that he loves her. And she refuses........ Anne why??????  Thankfully she comes to her senses and by the end of the book, they are in love and happy! (of course a few minor obstacles are in their way early on) (Christine)

Anne of Windy Poplars-
I love the way this book is written. Mostly it is written in the style of Anne's letters to Gilbert. The rest is written from a third person perspective. Anne is principle of Summerside High School. She lives at a house called Windy Poplars with two old women and their maid. Anne has a lot of funny adventures in this book, being Anne of course she does :)

Anne's House of Dreams-
DING DONG DING DONG!!! HEAR THE WEDDING BELLS RING, ANNE AND GILBERT FINALLY GET MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!  Sorry for the all caps, not sorry! I love this book. I want to live in Four Winds so bad! L.M. Montgomery's descriptions make me just want to pack up my things and move to Prince Edward Island.

Anne of Ingleside-
Anne and Gilbert have kids now. Gilbert is honestly one of the cutest fathers ever. The way he treats his kids is just so cute! Anne is an amazing mother. I think because of the fact she was an orphan helps because she wants her children to feel loved like she never did until Anne came to Matthew and Marilla. This book is told from all of the kids perspective.

Rainbow Valley-To tell you guys the truth I didn't really like this book. I just felt it was a filler book and I just.... was not feeling it. It's a great book nonetheless, so you should read it to be introduced to the new characters.

Rilla of Ingleside-
Ok, I have a confession to make. I have not read this book yet. I really want to read it. From what I've heard it is the best book ever. I just haven't read it yet but I will real soon.

There you have it! My two cents on the Anne Series. This was supposed to go up last week but my family's been dealing with colds and I got pink eye last week so I apologize for my absence.
But the good news is Kat posted while I was gone!

Book Review: The Borrowed House

This book is written by Hilda Van Stockman, the same lady who wrote the Winged Watchman.

I find this book really interesting because this is written from the point of a young girl in Germany. Actually, she was only in Germany for the first two or three chapters. She is a German girl who goes to live in Holland with her actor parents. And she lives in a borrowed house. A house taken from a dutch family by the Nazis.

I love reading books from this time period, especially from the point of view of an underground worker! Clashes with the Gestapo, forging papers....so exciting.

But the main character from this book isn't with the resistance. She isn't Jewish either. She is a Hitler Youth (Technically she is what ever the term is for the female version of Hitler Youth, but who cares. I mean besides me.)

Naturally she changes her mind as time goes by. It really is a good thing, because she falls through the back of the closet into a magical place. Well, not Narnia. It's a secret room. With a member of the resistance.

*Spoilers*

Who, naturally isn't some wrinkly old guy who has been there since the first world war.
Nope. It's a boy.

And they slowly fall in love, blah blah blah. And everything is going great.

Until the house burns down and he has to run for his life, etc.

  So go read it.

-Kat

Just a side note from the other half of this blog :)

I loved this book so much. Janna and Sef are so cute and I cried at the ending

2017 Schedule

We've decided to post out schedule for 2017.

-------------------------------------------

January- Holy Family/Family

February- Future Spouse, Marriage, St Valentine, etc

March- Passion of Christ/Lent

April- Holy Eucharist

May- Mary, Queen of Heaven

June- Sacred Heart

July- Prayers for Our County. Prayers for Soldiers and Politicians.

August- Prayers for Vocations/ Guidance with Search for Future Careers

September- Our Lady of Sorrows

October- The Holy Rosary

November- Holy Souls

December- Christmas/ Advent

----------------------------------

This will be mostly the same thing every year, except for a few select months.

March could change, if we wanted to focus on one part of the Passion. Like the Five Wounds, Carrying of the Cross, etc.

May will change every year.  This year we're doing the Queenship of Mary. For example, next year we might do the Motherhood of Mary, or Our Lady of Mount Camel.

November can change. I think we will rotate every year: All Saints, All Souls, All Saints, etc.

Siblings

HELLO! It's me! The person who never blogs! Yay!

I should apologize for not blogging more often, but..........I'm not sorry

Ok, I'm a little sorry. I have been INSANELY busy, thank you very much!

Anyway, on with the post!
\

The month of January was supposed to be Holy Family themed. Ha ha.
There is still a little January left....

(Next month is February and out theme will be Future Spouses. So we will (hopefully) have all sorts of prayers and such.)

So I am posting on FAMILY! (Not the "Holy Family" kind. YOUR family kind)

Siblings.

WOW

They can be very annoying sometime. But sometimes they can be your best friend.

Here is a bit of advice. Your siblings will ALWAYS be there. You can't just move away or drift apart. (You can, I suppose..) This is your family. It would be MUCH better if when everyone is adults and you get together at your mum's house, if you aren't fighting or "not talking" to each other. Everyone has something in common. Get to know your siblings. Do things with them. When they are driving you craaaazy and your about to scream, stand up, quietly leave the room and do something. Put all that energy you were just going to use to hit your lil' brother with a 2x4 and go run. Or do Yoga. Or make cookies. The butter won't mind if you violently slam it onto the table.

Leave the house if you can. At least leave the room.

When your feeling better, go back and do things with them. Watch a movie (granted, your brothers might not like Pride and Prejudice, but still) play a board game, etc.

Make an effort to do things with your siblings once in awhile. I for one had more trouble bonding with my older siblings. If you are the older sibling, spend time with the younger ones. They most likely look up to you.

If you are the younger sibling, I suggest try NOT doing things that annoy your older siblings. If you know they hate it when you sing Let It Go at the top of your voice at 2 am, don't do that. If you aren't driving them crazy all the time, it will be easier to spend time with them!

Make spending time with family your new goal for 2017! Trust me, you'll be glad you did!

Music of the Week #4

Hey guys!

So I know my last post was a bit of a  downer but I am perfectly okay now. The play went finewithout me so it  was great.

Anyway on to the music!

Alessia Cara- Seventeen
I don't normally listen to pop music that often but ever since I turned 17 I have been obsessed with songs that are about being seventeen. So I found this one and it is a really great song.

Hunter Hayes- In a Song
OH LOOK ANOTHER HUNTER HAYES SONG, WHO'S SUPRISED??????
anyway, this song is beautiful and I love it so much. All the feels!!!!!!!

Sara Bareilles- She Used To Be Mine
I feel like this is a song every girl can relate too. When you grow up, you begin to wish for the person that you used to be and this song perfectly describes that feeling.

Raelynn- For a Boy
This a first crush song. I personally love these kind of songs because they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Little Big Town- Better Man
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. THAT'S ALL I'M GOING TO SAY JUST LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!!

Wow, there are a lot of caps in this one. I am very passionate about certain songs, i don't know if you could tell.

Comment and tell me which song(s) were your favorite.

Love,
-Lia

I am honestly so disappointed.....

....in myself mostly.

I told you guys I was going to blog this week so I could tell you about the practices. But I didn't and now I am sitting at home when I am supposed to be at church because I got sick and I am not going to be Mary today.

So yeah........

I've had kind of a bad day.

Pretty short post today but I will blog more later this week

Recaping 2016

Hey guys!

I decided to write a post about how this year has been for me.

I feel 2016 has been a big year for me but also I can't wait to start 2017 and see what it holds.

2016 is the year I started to transgress from child to young adult. I am 17 but I feel like I didn't
start to really feel it til this year.

2016 also had its ups and downs too.... At the beginning of the year, my mom broke her ankle. For the next three months, my life changed a lot. I had to take on a lot of the responsibility around the house, taking care of my little brothers, and making dinner. And at the same time keep up with my
schoolwork as well. Thankfully, my tutor was very understanding so she gave me some freebies :)

I started my junior year of high school in 2016 and. I have started to look at collages and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and my future.

In November, my mom and sisters took me to see Phantom of the Opera on stage. It was the best thing ever and I am so blessed to have a wonderful mother and sisters who knew how much I wanted to see it.

In 2017, I want to actually follow through with my New Years resolutions and not completely forget about them.

So I've come up with some I will try to follow.

1. Stop procrastinating so much
2. Blog more
3. Try to write something in my journal every day
4. Spend less time on the Internet.
5. Be confident

I hope you guys have a happy new year and I look forward to what the new year brings us all.

Love,
-Lia
