Music of the Week #17

Oh boy, I have not done one of these in a while........sorry!

Anyway get ready for a doozie this week, I got a new musical that I have not stopped listening to since the album came out last week.

Anastasia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The movie was my childhood. I can quote it and I know the songs by heart and when I heard they were making a musical, I literally danced around my house!!!

As some of you may know, Ramin Karimloo is starring in this. He plays Gleb, a Russian official who is replacing Rasputin as the villain.  Ramin also plays the Phantom in the 25th anniversary edition.
As soon as he started singing on this Anastasia album, I busted out laughing. All I could think of was, "why is the Phantom in Russia? Is this where he went after Christine left?" Aaaaaaaand now every time he sings, I laugh.( sorrynotsorry)

So I won't be doing just 5 songs this week, because I can't pick just 5. This album is amazing!!
(and yes, I totally looked up how much Broadway tickets are and I am poor and sad :(  )

A Crowd of a Thousands

Stay, I Pray You

In My Dreams

Once Upon A December

My Petersburg

Meant To Be

We'll Go From There

Quartet At The Ballet

Crossing A Bridge

Land of Yesterday

Everything To Win

Ok, so ummm, that was 11 songs. Somebody should probably send help. Nevermind it's too late for that.

Hope you enjoy!!!
Comments if you listened to this an unhealthy amount of times too!!
Or if your interested in listening to it

5 Things You Need For An Awesome Summer:

Summer is starting!

Ok, actually it's not. Summer doesn't officially start until June 21st.
But whatever. Work with me here.

  1. A crazy plan that may or may not happen.
Hike the Appalachian trail? Go on an epic road trip? Make some crazy plans and try to make it work. But don't be too disappointed if it fails.
  2. A no less fun plan that you can  make happen. How about some fun things that will happen? Make a bucket list. Go watch a new  movie, go ice skating, (indoor naturally,) rent some kayaks and head up the river. Bonus points if you find a rope swing over the water.
  3. A new skill to learn.
Want to write with your non dominate hand? Go for it. Cartwheels? Run a 5K? Do it.
  4. A reading list
Or if you want to try something else, a list a movies to watch. Want to watch every old John Wayne cowboy movie? Re watch all your favorite war movies with your dad? Musical Movie Marathon? Watch EVERY DISNEY MOVIE EVER? Then do it.

  5. Try something that scares you.
You want to cut your hair, but are worried about the sudden change, or what other people will think? Want to take Martial Arts, but are scared of starting lessons? Close your eyes, take a deep breath and go! Live your dreams! Don't hold yourself back. (Oh, You should open your eyes after the deep breath)

Have a great summer.

Cheers mates,
-Kat

What NOT To Do On Valentine's Day

Happy feast of St. Valentine everyone!

I do not have a boyfriend or a Valentine this year. I haven't for the last couple of years and I am totally ok with that. I'm only 17, I'll wait for the right one.

Even though I don't have a Valentine, I still have a few words of wisdom I can impart on you lovely people :)

Here's what not to do on Valentine's Day:

1. Complain about your singledom and cry in your room with chocolate.
(BTW singledom is totally a word, I just made it up :))

This will get you nowhere. Be happy. Even though you don't have a boyfriend to spend today with, Valentine's can still be fun. Go out with your friends. Walk around town, go out to dinner, have a sleepover, make fun of all the lovey-dovey couples you see.(Nicely. and not necessarily in that order)(And I suggest quietly too-Kat)

2. Post on social media that you are #singleandproud.
Just don't do it. You might actually be single and proud of it and that's ok. But if you post about it, it makes you look desperate. That you want the whole world to know you're single.

-Lia

(Ha ha. We are both posting on this one! The pink is Lia, the blue is mine -Kat)

3. Walk up to a random cute couple your age, slap the guy in the face and scream "You said you would always remember me!" and then stomp off. Please. Just don't.

4. Don't go out to people -ly places. Avoid all those places that are always filled with couples (unless it the coffee shop. coffee, coffee, coffee,)

5. But don't stay in either. (Unless you LIKE staying in.) If you like going out and about, go some place that isn't a "couple" thing. (Please tell me Barnes and Nobel isn't a "couple place.")

6. Don't sit on your computer all day

A Suggestion: I suggest you get all you friends together (the awesome single ones) and have a movie marathon. It could be chick flicks, Disney, period drama (P&P, any other Jane Austen, North and South, etc) but it doesn't have to be. You could watch war movies, cheesy movies, the classics, spy movies (invite me please.)  Pizza, on the other hand, is a MUST. Chocolate is good too. And popcorn. Since St. Valentine's isn't in Lent this year (YAY) that means you have no excuse not to splurge on chocolates. (unless your broke, in which case I suggest inviting friends who have jobs.)

-Kat

What do you suggest people do or don't do on St. Valentine's day?
