Kat Spills the Beans and Says Goodbye

Oh boy.

The drama that's going to spill after this.

This post was written before Lia finished hers, so it's rather hard for me to play off her themes and all that so I'm just going to go with it.

HEY BTW

MAKE SURE YOU READ LIA'S POST FIRST

 Did you do that?

Ok good.

Moving on.

This blog is the first blog that really got Lia into blogging and the first time I really stepped into this end of the blogging world. You could, in fact, blame everything on an English class I took my sophomore year of high school at the community college near me. We had to start a blog about what we wrote for our class project and now...

Can you believe we've been blogging since 2016? So much has happened! We've had tons of comments, tons of friends and tons of posts! (My favorite post being, of course, the Banana Cream Pie one and this one.)

But it is time for our time blogging on Catholic Girl Stuff to come to an end. Lia and I have both moving on to different areas in our lives and we need to stop holding on to the past to really do so. And I really hate doing things halfway and that's basically all this blog has been for the past year or so: half-hearted effort and last minute posts.

I think the thing I will miss most about it is doing the "dual posts" with Lia. Hopefully, we'll be able to continue them on Lia's blog.

And now...the beans.
As promised.

This is actually kind of hard for me to do, even though I've been planning it for a while.

It is time for my secret identity to be revealed.

I'm MK from Sarcastic Scribblings, y'all.

No.

I'm not joking.

Why did I do this?

1. It amused me

2. I wrote a guest post (I'll try and find it and link it in the comments) and Ivie Brooks asked me if Kat and MK were the same people. I don't remember what I said, but I ended up having two friends come to the rescue and be like, "Um. No. Of course not!"
And then I was kind of stuck?

3. I started Sarcastic Scribblings because I wanted to blog without people I knew following my blog. This was in part because I wanted to gain followers etc on my own to feet, so to speak and get honest feedback on my writing. It was also because Lia uses the email linked to CGS as a personal email and talked to a lot of people I also know. Therefore, they knew about the blog and with every post, I put up I'm kind of thinking about them in the back of my mind.  It made it so that I could blog about whatever I wanted on Sarcastic Scribblings. I read a book that I wouldn't necessarily recommend to everyone I know because it has some questionable content but I still enjoyed the overall story?
I can feel free to blog about it.
It gave me the ability to be who I am and who I want to be.
And now?

Well, I kind of hope that all the people I know + was worried who were following this blog have lost interest and moved on. But honestly?
If they're still here they either like what I'm writing or they're one of the sad lurkers who just kind of quietly check on what you're up to.

I'm doing great, lurkers.

And if I 'fess up, then I can do dual posts with Lia after this, so there's that.
That's honestly one of the biggest driving factors.

Am I still a little hesitant? Yes.
Am I doing it anyway? Also yes.

It's time to stop letting the opinions of other people stop me.
And it's time to let CGS go so Lia and I can move on.

Onward into the bright future.
Goodbye Catholic Girl Stuff.

And let the drama in the comment section begin!

Where Did The Time Go?

Suddenly it's 2018

This year has just passed by so quickly. I don't even know where to start.

Our little blog has 13 followers now! Thank you guys for sticking with us. I know we have been posting much lately but with school and generally growing up things, its hard to find time to sit down and write a post.

I certainly am going to post more this coming year. :D :D

Kat and I have exciting things happening this year. This year, we are directing our church's Epiphany play. Which is a little terrifying!!!

WE'RE GRADUATING THIS YEAR!!!!!

Who decided it would be a good idea to release us on the world???? (jk jk jk) Then this fall, Kat will be headed off to college and me....... I have no idea. It has caused me many a gray hair just thinking about it. My hair is practically white!!!!!!!! (I kid, I kid) Still brown :)

Have a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!

Lia

Remember when staying up until Midnight used to be a big thing? Wow.

Things That Happened This Year:

  • Catholic Girl Stuff turned 1!

  • We have 8k Pageviews... WOW

  • We both totally forgot to post on this blog.

  • Lia turned 18! YIKES

  • I applied for different colleges (I feel so old...)

  •  We reached our 100th post...and then some

  • Drank WAAAAY to much coffee

  • Played pranks

  • Spent time with friends (though not nearly enough)

And since Lia started, that means I finish. Which means I have to break the not so happy news... Catholic Girl Stuff will be on hiatus for the month of January.
(Don't worry, Lia will probably still be posting over at Musical Writings....We all know she's your favorite anyways)

Friend and Sister, One and the Same

Hello guys!

                                                        R.I.P. Chocolate Mousse

From a recent comment on a post, you guys finally found us out. That's right, I know Catherine from the Rebelling Muse in person. I've seen her face and everything! You guys might remember a post I made in May about my sister graduating college and leaving. That was her. We have been keeping this a secret ever since she started her blog. We finally decided to tell you all. Here are some questions that Catherine came up with that hopefully answer some of your questions!

1. How long have we known each other/how and when did we meet?
Catherine and I have known each other for almost 5 years. She and I were introduced in the car when we picked her up for the first time. It was really awkward for the first couple weeks. When we arrived at church, my mom asked me to show her around. Literally all I was thinking was "this is literally the most awkward conversation I have ever had with anyone" Thankfully we warmed up to each other within a few weeks and now we can't seem to stop talking. Lol.

2. Over the course of our friendship, what are some of the things that Catherine introduced/dragged me into?

Catherine has been fangirling to me about all the Welsh music she has found over the last couple weeks. So now I have a new found appreciation for Welsh music. She also made me watch Rogue One. I am still very upset over that movie's conclusion and I told her so and all she did was laugh her head off at me. Catherine also introduced Spotify to me. I am now obsessed with Spotify. It's great!
Oh Pinterest, how could I forget about Pinterest. She sucked me into that deep dark hole. XD

3. What was the most embarrassing moment that we shared?

My little brother decided to play matchmaker and he wanted my older brother and Catherine to start dating. It was hilarious!!!! Catherine will probably tell you that it was embarrassing for her but from my perspective, it was incredibly funny!

(This is a picture from a trip we took together)

4. Out of all the movies and TV shows that we have watched together, which one was the most memorable?

Definitely When Calls the Heart. We wanted to watch a period drama for Valentine's Day. I realized I never watched it with her. Cue lots of weekends of Catherine coming over and us binge-watching it to death. So. Much. Fangirling.

5. What is the funniest moment that we shared?

We have a mutual friend who has an interesting younger brother. He is really, really, really, really annoying. (yes, all the really's were necessary) He did something to me that was really embarrassing and when I told Catherine about it, she suggested that we handcuff ourselves together to avoid hurting him. We laughed so hard about it, we almost woke up the whole house.

6. What is one fact about me that I haven't told Catherine yet?

I have no idea what I would do without her.  :)

(another picture from the same trip)

7. We are constantly scheming, which castle-in-the-air we created was my favorite?

My favorite is that someday we would move in together and have a cute little apartment. I think this one has a good chance of coming true ;)

8. Which Jane Austen Character are we most like?

                                                                     (Me!)

                                                                 (Catherine!)

Ok so some backstory on this question. Catherine and I were talking on the phone while we were typing these out. We decided to take a quiz, Which Anne of Green Gables Character Are You Most Like? WE BOTH GOT ANNE!!!! So we took a which female fictional character are you most like?
We got the same thing again!!!!! We took like 6 quizzes and we got the same thing every time!
So we decided to take the one above. and we finally got someone different. I took it for me and then for her.

9. What is one thing one of us loves and the other one hates?

I really love Les Miserables and Catherine can't stand it.

10. Random Facts About Catherine

Catherine is very practical which is good cause she knocks some sense into my crazy ideas. :D

She loves people very deeply

She is one of the funniest people I know

Her laugh is very contagious

She get hiccups if she laughs too hard, it is so funny!

11. What is the sweetest memory of our friendship that I remember?

She is an amazing listener. Every time I complain about my brothers and a certain person I can't get out of my head. She never hangs up on me. :) which this really doesn't answer the sweetest memory question but now I will. Confiding in each other about future plans is one of my favorites.

All pictures in this post belong to Catherine, please do not repost

Hope you enjoy this look into our friendship!

"Because I Knew You, I Have Been Changed For The Better"

Hey guys.

So yesterday, my sister graduated from college. She's not actually my sister but we are pretty much sisters. She is going off to grad school in another state and I have no idea when the next time I will see her again. (hopefully soon because I miss her like crazy)

So this is basically what I couldn't say to her last night as we were hugging goodbye.
(I probably would have started crying if I tried)

You have changed my life. I don't know what I would be doing now if you hadn't come into my life. You brought out the person that I am today. For that, I am eternally grateful. You make me laugh and every time we talk, I am so happy. I can tell you anything and you will do the same in return.

I wish you all the luck in the world. I hope at grad school, you find your someone and he makes you happy.

Thank you for being my friend. And especially, thank you for being my sister.

Love,
-Lia

(P.S. I totally know you are going to cry when  you read this, so chin up buttercup!)
