Our time blogging at Catholic Girl Stuff has come to an end.
You can still find us around the blogging world though!
Lia can be found at THE SINGING WRITER

Kat Spills the Beans and Says Goodbye
Oh boy.
The drama that's going to spill after this.
This post was written before Lia finished hers, so it's rather hard for me to play off her themes and all that so I'm just going to go with it.
HEY BTW
MAKE SURE YOU READ LIA'S POST FIRST
Did you do that?
Ok good.
Moving on.
This blog is the first blog that really got Lia into blogging and the first time I really stepped into this end of the blogging world. You could, in fact, blame everything on an English class I took my sophomore year of high school at the community college near me. We had to start a blog about what we wrote for our class project and now...
Can you believe we've been blogging since 2016? So much has happened! We've had tons of comments, tons of friends and tons of posts! (My favorite post being, of course, the Banana Cream Pie one and this one.)
But it is time for our time blogging on Catholic Girl Stuff to come to an end. Lia and I have both moving on to different areas in our lives and we need to stop holding on to the past to really do so. And I really hate doing things halfway and that's basically all this blog has been for the past year or so: half-hearted effort and last minute posts.
I think the thing I will miss most about it is doing the "dual posts" with Lia. Hopefully, we'll be able to continue them on Lia's blog.
And now...the beans.
As promised.
This is actually kind of hard for me to do, even though I've been planning it for a while.
It is time for my secret identity to be revealed.
I'm MK from Sarcastic Scribblings, y'all.
No.
I'm not joking.
Why did I do this?
1. It amused me
2. I wrote a guest post (I'll try and find it and link it in the comments) and Ivie Brooks asked me if Kat and MK were the same people. I don't remember what I said, but I ended up having two friends come to the rescue and be like, "Um. No. Of course not!"
And then I was kind of stuck?
3. I started Sarcastic Scribblings because I wanted to blog without people I knew following my blog. This was in part because I wanted to gain followers etc on my own to feet, so to speak and get honest feedback on my writing. It was also because Lia uses the email linked to CGS as a personal email and talked to a lot of people I also know. Therefore, they knew about the blog and with every post, I put up I'm kind of thinking about them in the back of my mind. It made it so that I could blog about whatever I wanted on Sarcastic Scribblings. I read a book that I wouldn't necessarily recommend to everyone I know because it has some questionable content but I still enjoyed the overall story?
I can feel free to blog about it.
It gave me the ability to be who I am and who I want to be.
And now?
Well, I kind of hope that all the people I know + was worried who were following this blog have lost interest and moved on. But honestly?
If they're still here they either like what I'm writing or they're one of the sad lurkers who just kind of quietly check on what you're up to.
I'm doing great, lurkers.
And if I 'fess up, then I can do dual posts with Lia after this, so there's that.
That's honestly one of the biggest driving factors.
Am I still a little hesitant? Yes.
Am I doing it anyway? Also yes.
It's time to stop letting the opinions of other people stop me.
And it's time to let CGS go so Lia and I can move on.
Onward into the bright future.
Goodbye Catholic Girl Stuff.
And let the drama in the comment section begin!

Some Bittersweet Chocolate Chips of Life for Y'all*
Hi guys!!!
This is a very hard post to write.
I have kind of put off doing this for a while because i wasn't ready to let go. But I have some sad news for you all.
Catholic Girl Stuff is shutting its doors permanently.
This was a really painful decision to make. But it had to be made because Kat and I have grown up and thus we have grown out of this blog. We don't want to give you half hearted and last minute posts. We want what we write to be meaningful and to mean something.
This blog will always have a special place in my heart. This blog was the start of many wonderful things. I have made many wonderful friends, we've had a lot of good memories together. :)
I hope you are all not too disappointed. You can still find me on my blog, The Singing Writer. And Kat.... Well I'll let her tell you what she's doing ;)
For the last time.
Lia, signing out.

6 Kasie West Books - Ranked [A Guest Book By MK @ Sarcastic Scribblings!]
TODAY WE HAVE A GUEST POST! (Why? Because I lasy. So lasy. Is that how you actually spell lazy? No. Do I know it will bother MK? YAS. Should I stop? Probably. Will I tho? Probably not. ANyway: MK!)
My eye is twitching. That looks like something I would send to my friends at three am while I'm walking or am half alseep.
A ha ha. I got her eye to twitch.
MK is from Sarcastic Scribblings and yes, I know she is super busy with college. (I am also in college tho slighly less busy. Seriously tho. MK has a crazy hard course and she is actually cray cray for doing it. If you have half an hour, ask her how school is and she'll be like "Great! I actually finsihed my homework early and got extra sleep!" And then you ask what time she went to bed and she's like, "Two am." Like whut? HOW. ) Did I bribe her into writing me a guest post ANYWAYS? Yep. DO I FEEL REGRET? Nope (Maybe a little)
That's good because someday I will force you to repay the favor and guest post on my blog so I can laze about.
Wut
With spelling and grammer checked of course. ;)
Wut
Anyway! She's Mary Kate or MK from Sarcastic Scribblings! And today she's doing a guest post where she ranks every Kasie West book she's ever read! Which is a total of six...(and counting!)
Enjoy and if you're not already following her blog, be sure to swing by and check out her other stuff. She loves comments, but IDK when she'll get back to y'all because college be cray cray. Take it
away MK!

6.
Ah yes. This is the book at the end. The least favorite of them all.
It wasn't baaaad. It just wasn't amazing either. Sure. It had it's good parts, but I didn't really see the chemistry between the two of them. The relationship between her and her dad and her brothers though? That was good.
girl friendships // FILL HIS ROOM WITH BASKETBALLS // Bling jersys // green eyes jelously // brothers // Dad // awesome family
5.
I'm pretty petty about this one, because MY SHIP DIDN'T SAIL. UGH. I wont say which one, since that would kind of spoil everything. But if you read it, then you will know. Know my pain.
BTW: If you HAVE read it, comment which ship you liked best! Of course, to avoid spoilers just say whether you like the ship that sailed or think THE RIGHT SHIP, EXCUSE ME should be brought back.
The best friend was cool though // jetski thief // wrong ship // awesome family //
4.
I actually probably liked Listen To Your Heart more than this one, but like I said. I'm petty. Like On the Fence, I didn't really feel the chemistry between the characters.
pennies // the zoo// that one rude pizza guy // I honestly don't remeber that much //
3.
(All of these three finalist are about equal. In fact, this one used to be my No. 1 Fav...But I've learned to like The Fill In Boyfriend more as I got older.)
Unlike the first three books on the list, I was whole heartedly behind this ship.
TRAPPED IN A LIBRARY // Cronuts // Poker Games // Anxiety // The guy friend who thought they were cute didn't end up acting like a jerk when he found out she didn't like him // THEY CUTE HALP //
2.
I originally didn't like this. It was cute and I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, but it took me awhile to get everything else going on in this book and the character journey etc.
There were both good girl friendships and bad ones portrayed in this book, which was interesting. Normally (I feel like) there is only one or the other.
The junkyard // roadtrip snacks // fake boyfriend // her brother // his mum // his sister // Not a good family on her part, but a well written one //
1.
If someone says Kasie West, this is the first book I think of.
I liked her best friend, but I wished she was in the story more.
Annoymous notes // THANKSGIVING // bunny wrangler // man bracelet // song writing // the farmer's market like thing // "oh no. They left. How Sad." // Golf Course // her family // Bugs rabbit + that one sock // awesome best friend // THEY CUTE HALP //
Kasie West Book I'm Planning on Reading Next:
All links lead to the books Goodreads page! Be sure to check them out and comment below which ones you've read, which ones you want to read, and WHICH SHIP DO YOU SHIP IF YOU DO SHIP A SHIP. (Wow. That reminded me of Dr. Suess. Though I should probably NEVER write a children's book.)
MK,
Over and out!

5 Things To Do On A Rainy Day
Hey guys!!
Lia here. Where I am in Ohio, its been raining for 50 years.... What does the sun even look like?
(basically me right now)
1. Put on music and jump on your bed.
Yeah, I know. Its a very mature and adulty thing to do. I never said this was good advice :D But seriously, sometimes you just need to dance it out.
2. Journal.
Whether it be bullet journaling or just writing your thoughts out. It very therapeutic to do when its raining.
3. Re-read your favorite book with tea or coffee or hot beverage of your choice.
I personally recommend Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter (oh my gosh, are you shocked?)
4. Watch a rom-com.
A really really cheesy one too. Letters to Juliet is my favorite :D
5. Organize your bookshelf.
AKA my favorite thing to do.
Alright that was my list! Talk to me in the comments! What are your favorite rainy day activities?

Welcome February!
Its been one month since Lia decided we should bring Catholic Girl Stuff back to life. We've refreshed a lot of the blog, the new look for example. (It was mostly Lia, but I helped pick out the pictures)
MONTHLY PRAYER LIFE DEVOTIONS AND FOCUS POINTS
Suggestions:
- For married couples
- Soon to be married couples
- Your future spouse
- Or your current spouse
- Guidance in deciding if you even want a spouse
I recently started praying a novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots and asking her for help untangling the mess that is my life. I have to say that the morning after I started, I woke up happy and had a great day of classes. Which was surprising since it was a Thursday and normally I HATE my Tuesday/Thursday classes. Oh and then a caught up on all my homework.
10/10 would recommend.
(Link to novena can be found here.)
FEBRUARY'S HOLY DAYS, HOLIDAYS & HIGHLIGHTS
***There are no Holy Days of Obligation this month***
Feb 1 - St. Brigid
Feb 3 - St. Blaise
Feb 8 - St. Josephine Bakhita
Feb 11 - Our Lady of Lourdes
Feb 14 - St Valentine
MONTHLY GOALS
-Make a point to focus on mental health/de-stressing
-Read something religious
FEBRUARY MINI PLAYLIST
Yes, I know this is normally Lia's thing. But my poor song taste will have to do. I feel like none of these songs really go together, but I picked songs that'll hopefully pick you up out of the winter slump!
-Main Theme from the Pirates of the Caribbean
-Lonely People by Orla Gartland
-This Is Me from the Greatest Showman
-Roundtable Rival by Lindsey Stirling
-The Other Side from the Greatest Showman
-Touch the Sky from Brave
Have a prayerful and beautiful February!

Goodbye January!
Hey guys!
Lia here!
January was kind of a hard month... I kept forgetting we had revived this, so I didn't remember to write anything. But I promise for the rest of the year to keep on my game! I wrote many reminders on sticky notes all over my room :D

We're Back////Welcome to January 2019!!!!

Life Things
Kat went back to college and abandoned me again... I worked a lot this month. Adulting is boring, I can tell you that.

A Couple Winter Book Suggestions
I'm sure for a lot of you, especially those from the blogging world, needing to find a book to read in 2019 is the last thing you need. For the past 2 months, all the book bloggers have been posting their "Best Books of 2018" posts and their "Most Anticipated Books of 2019" posts...
But sometimes even they (gasp) just need to curl up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, hot chocolate and a book...and they can't decide what to read.
So you want to read a series?
(I cannot read that without imaging Cpt. America reading it, lol)
Series I great because you read it and then don't have to start a new story! You already know all the characters, the world...You don't have to get to know new book people (characters) you can just dive right in!
My suggestion?
The Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter
This is a six book series (with two short stories and two more series set in the same universe ) about a young ladies boarding school that secretly trains them to be *gasp* SPIES
Yeah, I know. There are a TON of books that use this same idea...but Ally Carter actually makes it work. Also, I loved the friendships in this book and that there's no girl-on-girl hate. The girl's at the school are all "sisters." Granted, some occasionally get on the nerves of the main character, but don't all sisters? (*sticks tongue out @ any sisters reading this*)
Pros:
Everything I just said
CUTE ROMANCE *heart eyes*
Lia and I really like it and will scream about it with you in the comments
Its awesome
Cons:
May get you hooked on spy stuff and next thing you know you'll be reading about the OSS (WWII spies...basically) and your brothers will never be able to watch James Bond without you kicking down the war chanting SPIES! SPIES! SPIES! SPIES!
So you want to read a light and cute modern day story but don't want to read a series?
My Contemporary Suggestions: (From most romance based to least)
(Don't worry...They're all clean!)
PS I Like You by Kasie West
Do you know what my favorite romance type is? Love to Hate. Enemies to lovers. "We hate each other SOOO much (and banter! Don't forget the witty banter!)" to "You're not actually a bad person? GASP. I LOVE YOU WHERE DID THAT COME FROM (And then more banter)
And yes...As high school contemporary romance goes...this is pretty cliche and you'll see everything coming from a mile away. But who cares? Its cute!
Pros:
Everything I just said
MAN BRACELET! (No, I will not explain)
She writes songs!
The characters are interesting
Well written families
SO MANY HORRIBLY AWKWARD MOMENTS *squeals*
Cons:
Predictable
Love and Gelato by Jenna Evan Welch
(And no, I cant write her name without thinking about grape juice)
Trigger warning: (Maybe? IDK how this works) Her mom dies before the book starts from cancer
A girl (Lina) is forced to go to Italy to live with her father she's never met. Meets a boy who lives near by and they become friends! She gets her mom's journal from when her mom studied abroad in Italy and starts reading it to retrace her steps.
Pros:
Everything I just said
Gelato
Italy
Fake accent
Cons:
Creepy people
Love and Luck Jenna Evan Welch
(Trigger Warning: There is a nude picture that is taken of the main character. It happens before the story takes place, but is briefly talked about)
A spin off book about Lina's best friend, Addie. It's more of a book about healing and siblings then it is about romance. If you were looking for a book that had basically NO ROMANCE? Read this.
If that isn't what you're looking for, read it anyways. Because its good. Seriously. Read it just so you can read about her mom at the end.
Pros:
WELL WRITTEN FAMILY
Her mom!
IRELAND
Almost no romance what-so-ever...basically just two broken people healing together...but "they cute"
Road trips!
SO. FUNNY
Cons:
Less romance
Kind of serious
You can't punch whats-his-face because he's fictional
-KAT
But sometimes even they (gasp) just need to curl up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, hot chocolate and a book...and they can't decide what to read.

Do you know what my favorite romance type is? Love to Hate. Enemies to lovers. "We hate each other SOOO much (and banter! Don't forget the witty banter!)" to "You're not actually a bad person? GASP. I LOVE YOU WHERE DID THAT COME FROM (And then more banter)
And yes...As high school contemporary romance goes...this is pretty cliche and you'll see everything coming from a mile away. But who cares? Its cute!
Pros:
Everything I just said
MAN BRACELET! (No, I will not explain)
She writes songs!
The characters are interesting
Well written families
SO MANY HORRIBLY AWKWARD MOMENTS *squeals*
Cons:
Predictable
Love and Gelato by Jenna Evan Welch
(And no, I cant write her name without thinking about grape juice)
Trigger warning: (Maybe? IDK how this works) Her mom dies before the book starts from cancer
A girl (Lina) is forced to go to Italy to live with her father she's never met. Meets a boy who lives near by and they become friends! She gets her mom's journal from when her mom studied abroad in Italy and starts reading it to retrace her steps.
Pros:
Everything I just said
Gelato
Italy
Fake accent
Cons:
Creepy people
Love and Luck Jenna Evan Welch
(Trigger Warning: There is a nude picture that is taken of the main character. It happens before the story takes place, but is briefly talked about)
A spin off book about Lina's best friend, Addie. It's more of a book about healing and siblings then it is about romance. If you were looking for a book that had basically NO ROMANCE? Read this.
If that isn't what you're looking for, read it anyways. Because its good. Seriously. Read it just so you can read about her mom at the end.
Pros:
WELL WRITTEN FAMILY
Her mom!
IRELAND
Almost no romance what-so-ever...basically just two broken people healing together...but "they cute"
Road trips!
SO. FUNNY
Cons:
Less romance
Kind of serious
You can't punch whats-his-face because he's fictional

We're Back!!!////Welcome to January 2019!
Yes that's us. WE'RE BACK!!! I'm sorry that we let this blog to die. So many things just started happening at once and it got really crazy. But now we are back and not going anywhere. (if we do end up abandoning this again, feel free to hunt us down :D)
Hopefully 2019 will be a big year for Catholic Girl Stuff!! Now I have to run but I'm turning it over to Kat so she can welcome you into January!! I'll be back soon!!
Lia
ENTER KAT
Allo.
*ahem*
WELCOME BACK to Catholic Girl Stuff
AND
WELCOME TO 2019!!!!!
We're probably going to post a recap of last year to catch you all up on the crazy things that have been happening, but here are some of the big points: Lia has been blogging away and since she didn't abandon you all (*looks slightly guilty*) you kind of already know what she's been up to. (She also posted a very nice 2018 recap on her personal blog, The Singing Writer.) I went to college! It was weird. I did good stuff. Ate 5+ dozen dounts by myself (Over the semester, not in one sitting) and also ate a embarassing amount of pizza... It was super weird to be living on my own, paying bills and shopping by myself. Like no. Stop. I cannot adult. And it was really sad going to church all by myself and never getting to see my besties. :(
BUT NO WORRIES! I'M BACK ON BREAK AND CATHOLIC GIRL STTUFF IS NOT. BUCKLE UP AND GET READING FOR A RIDE INTO CRAZY LAND BECAUSE HERE WE GO!
-K
