Day 4: Novena to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

Dearest Holy Mother, you are generous with all who seek you, have mercy on me. I entrust into your hands this knot which robs the peace of my heart, paralyzes my soul and keeps me from going to my Lord and serving Him with my life.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life.  You know very well how desperate I am, my pain, and how I am bound by these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the lives of his children, I entrust into your hands the ribbon of my life. No one, not even the evil one himself, can take it away from your precious care. In your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Powerful Mother, by your grace and intercessory power with Your Son and My Liberator, Jesus, take into your hands today this knot.
[Mention your request here]
I beg you to undo it for the glory of God, once for all. You are my hope.
O my Lady, you are the only consolation God gives me, the fortification of my feeble strength, the enrichment of my destitution, and, with Christ, the freedom from my chains.
Hear my plea.
Keep me, guide me, protect me, o safe refuge!
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.
Amen.

Day 3: Novena to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

Meditating Mother, Queen of heaven, in whose hands the treasures of the King are found, turn your merciful eyes upon me today. I entrust into your holy hands this knot in my life [mention your request here] and all the rancor and resentment it has caused in me.
Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

Music of the Week #15

Hey guys!

This week is going to be about another musical....... Dear Evan Hansen!!!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know what this is, let me 'splain. Dear Evan Hansen is a musical of a high school student named Evan Hansen who has social anxiety. His therapist told him to write letters to himself beginning, "Dear Evan Hansen, today is going to be a good day and here's why." Look up the Wikipedia page if you want know more, cause we will be here all day if I try to do it.

Anyway, I have been listening to this musical on repeat for three weeks. I have listened to nothing else. I keep having to resist the urge to shove the musical in my friends faces, like a puppy or something.

Me: Here! Drop what your doing and listen to this!!!!!!!!!  *hands them the original cast recording*

Friend: What the heck are you blabbing about?

Me: *falls over, cluches chest* LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!!

(Note: this is a completely hypothetical conversation, it never happened) (yet)

These are my top 5 favorite songs from the musical.

A Little About Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

Alrighty,

*cracks knuckles*

(Actually, *just hurts fingers trying to crack knuckles*)

(And I lied to you. I can and actually did, crack my knuckles)

(Anyway)

Tomorrow we begin our first novena of May!

The Novena to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots!

......

But who is she?

All You Lovely Readers: Well, obviously, it's another title for Our Lady, but come on, Kat. Give us DETAILS!

Well, actually I was looking for better details explaining her and found this lovely article over at Mary, Undoer of Knots.com.

So, here is the link: TA DA!!!!

But I'm also just going to copy and paste part of it here for you all, ok?

"EVE BY HER DISOBEDIENCE, TIED THE KNOT OF DISGRACE FOR THE HUMAN RACE; WHEREAS MARY, BY HER OBEDIENCE, UNDID IT"
                                                        -Saint Irenaeus

"But what are these knots? They are the problems and struggles that we face for which we do not

see a solution. Knots of discord with your family, lack of understanding between parents and

children, disrespect, violence, the knots of deep hurts between husband and wife, the absence of

joy from the home. They are also the knots of anguish and despair of separated couples, the

dissolution of the family, the knots of drug addicted son or daughter, sick or separated from home

or God, the knots of alcoholism, the practice of abortion, depression, unemployment, fear,

solitude. Ah. The knots of our life. How they suffocate the soul, beat us down and betray the

heart's joy and separate us from God."

So there you have it.

Also, her painting as Undoer of Knots:

Book Review: Sylvester or The Wicked Uncle by Georgette Heyer

"Sylvester or The Wicked Uncle" by Georgette Heyer

This book!

*GASP*

I finished it last Sunday. Monday morning actually. Because, yes! It IS a stay up until 3 AM kind of book. If you liked Pride and Prejudice, you NEED to read this book. It's....it's.....

I can't even explain it right now, so I'll just post the blurb from the back on here, ok?

Sylvester, Duke of Salford, has exacting requirements for a bride. Then he meets Phoebe Marlow, a young lady with literary aspirations, and suddenly life becomes very complicated. She meets none of his criteria, and even worse, she has written a novel that is sweeping through the ton and causing all kinds of gossip... and he's the main character!

*sound of me gasping like a dying fish on the floor.*

Please, PLEASE read it and comment below about whether or not you liked it!

P.S. Lia REALLY needs to read this. What IS she doing with her time? School. Ha! That's crazy. Who wants to do school when you have regency novels?
