My Crazy, Dysfunctional, Wonderful Family

"Get out of my room!!"

"Don't touch that!"

"Who made this mess??"

These are phrases that are very common in my house.

As a teenage girl with two younger brothers, I wonder how I manage to survive day
after day.

I'm still trying to figure that out but I've come up with some tips for surviving younger
siblings.

Playing your music as loud as you can get it without damaging your ears works very well.

Spend as much time alone in your room without becoming a total recluse works too.

Thankfully my mom is very understanding so she understands that sometimes I need to be
alone.

My siblings may annoy me but I wouldn't trade them for the world. (just don't let them know that)

She Stole My Line

I was seriously just logging on here to talk about Fall.
Which is officially here now, since the 22nd.

I LOVE Fall!
The crisp air, the fashion boots, the tea, the decor of  nature and our homes, hoodies, caramel apples,
not to mention the harvest! The drive from your home is so different after they've combined the corn and bean fields.

And my all time favorite: All the bugs die!

oh, and did I mention tea?

Fall!

Ahhhhhh! Fall is here!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and it's here.

All of our windows are open and I'm freezing to death but I have no problem with that.

To get a great fall experience make sure to have your fall starter pack:

Warm, cozy sweaters
Hot drink of your choice
Fall decorations
fall scented candles

The candles are to make sure you get the full fall experience inside and out.

Have a great fall!

Quick September Devotion

So we were originally not going to post a devotion for September but my Mom suggested a quick,

short prayer to add.

September is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.

So here is the Sorrowful Hail Mary:

"Hail Mary, full of sorrows, the Crucified is with thee; thou are pitiable amongst women, and
pitiable is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Crucified, implore for us,
the crucifiers of thy Son, tears of contrition, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."

This prayer is short and easy to say anywhere and at anytime.

Patron Saints

Everyday on the calendar has a saint. It is that saint's feast day!
A lot of people complain ( especially during lent) as to how much Catholics HAVE to fast.
That's just because they are ONLY doing what they have to.
Do they celebrate the feast days of their favorite saints? Do they celebrate their baptismal anniversaries (Commonly referred to as "Name days") with parties as big as their birthdays?

Everyone has patron saints. The saints your named after perhaps? Or maybe the patron saint of your occupation or hobby? Or just a saint you like.

Here are some common patron saints:
  •  Saint Adrian the Patron of soldiers
  • Saint Anne the Patron of Grandmothers, Mothers, Women in labor
  •  Saint Isidore the Patron of Ranchers and farmers
  •  Saint Joseph, patron of workers, fathers,
  • Saint Cecilia, patron of musicians and music
  • Saint Christopher, patron of travelers  (also, Archangel Raphael)
  • Saint Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, patron saint of guns, handguns, and gun owners
  •
There are a billion more! But I've drawn a blank...
Anyway, here are some websites to look for other saints. Please do not trust places like Wikipedia for your catholic information. Treat it like you would any other research. It might be a good starting place, but just because it's on the internet, doesn't mean it's true

I don't think any of these websites have the saint's feast days...
You'll have to find them yourself!

Keep Celebrating!

October: Month of the Rosary

Monthly devotion :   Every Month is going to have "a theme"
for example June: The Sacred Heart.

Since there are only 7 days left of September, there will be no theme this month, however,
Next Month, October, will be the month of the Rosary.
